What is the story all about?

This movie is all about a King called Gautamiputra Satakarni who belongs to the proud Satavahana Dynasty of India. There are many stories all over the world on this mighty King in many historical museums. But this film mainly focuses on how the King Satakarni battled with two crucial Kingdoms in India. Most importantly, this movie portrays the King’s defeat on Greeks when they invaded India.

How is Balakrishna’s Performance?

Balakrishna is the perfect hero among all the heroes for this role of Satakarni. He looked so royal as a King. His performance is the main highlight of the film. His powerful dialogues and war sequences give goosebumps to viewers. He has lived up the expectations. For sure this character will be a milestone in his film career.

How is other lead actors performance?

Raja Matha Hema Malini looks regal with her stature. She looked so dignified and perfectly cast for her role. Shreya impressed all after all these years both with her look and performance. Being a Royal Queen, she gave her career’s best performance for this movie. She will get the much-needed break in her career with this movie. Shivraj Kumar’s cameo is nice. Kabeer Bedi has got an ok role. Other actors did well according to their roles.

Did Krish do justice to the film?

Without Krish, this movie is almost an impossible thing to happen. Krish single-handedly completed the project in less than 80 days. His narration is top notch. The way he created war sequences are like never before. He will receive applauds for his work within a limited budget. For sure, this will be the best work of his in his career.
How are the Photography and Dialogues?

The camera work is splendid as the DOP Gnanasekhar repeated the magic of ‘Kanche’. His work is excellent in war sequences. Photography is an added asset for this flick.

Sai Madhav Burra should be credited the best for his outstanding dialogues. Every word uttered by Balayya appeared as swords those blade in the air with high speed. Each and every dialogue written by Sai Madhav are extraordinary.
Music by Devi Chirantan Bhatt?

Chirantan Bhatt’s work is decent for this flick. Out of all songs, two songs will be loved by music enthusiasts and other songs will appear nice with visuals. He provided nice background score for war sequences but some felt that he could be better to raise the heat. However, he is apt for this historical drama.

Thumbs up:

  • Balakrishna’s all-around performance

  • Production values

  • Krish direction

  • Sai Madhav dialogues

  • War sequences

  • Shreya

Thumbs Down:

  • Less commercial elements

  • Drags in narration at some places

  • Oscillating pace

  • Weak background score

Bottom line: Balayya’s perfect landmark as 100
