Tamil Film Director and Cinematographer KV Anand is no more!
Director and cinematographer KV Anand took his last breath on Friday (April 30, 2021) morning in Chennai due to a massive heart attack. He was 52 years old. This news came as a shocker for the Tamil film industry and the celebrities Khushbu Sundar, Allu Arjun and other celebs, as well as fans as mourned the loss of the director.
According to the reports, he had chest pain at midnight and Anand immediately rushed to a private hospital in Chennai. Unfortunately, his body didn’t respond to any medical treatment and doctors were declared his death at 3 AM.
KV Anand has worked as a still photographer in a famous media house in Tamil Nadu. He assisted PC Sreeram, the legendary cinematographer and then he made his debut as a cinematographer. KV Anand’s first film as a cinematographer in Malayalam cinema was Thenmavin Kombath (directed by Priyadarshan). He received the National Award for the best cinematography for his excellent work in the film. His first cinema as a cinematographer was the Tamil film Kathir’s Kadhal Desam.
Some of Anand’s other remarkable works as a cinematographer are Nerukku Ner, Virumbugiren, Mudhalvan, Chellame, Boys, Sivaji: The Boss, etc.
