The Recent water war is also taking a toll on movie releases in Karnataka. Dhanush has a lot of fans in Bangalore. But they are not going to see Thodari today like the rest of the world. Karnataka distributors are afraid of releasing Thodari. They do not know when they will release Thodari in Karnataka.

Manjunath, one of Karnataka’s biggest distributors told this to IANS, “We fear the Cauvery row between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will affect the release of “Thodari”. Hence, we have decided not to release the film even though it will cost us heavily.”

This is not the first time when a Kollywood movie is not releasing in Karnataka theaters. Vikram’s Irumugan also did not release in Karnataka.

The film is art. Politicians need to make sure art stays separate from water war. Hopefully, a solution will come out soon and Kannada fans will be able to enjoy Tamil movies again.
