Mumbai Saga Review: John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi Conflict Fuels This Criminal Drama
Cast: John. Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Kajal Agarwal, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Amole Gupte, Samir Soni
Director: Sanjay Gupta
Story: Mumbai Saga is based on true events. The movie reveals the story of an ordinary person turned into a gangster Amartya Rao, whose dramatic rise in Mumbai between the eighties and nineties was marked by betrayal, lawlessness, and bloody gang wars.
Performances: John Abraham struggles in few emotional scenes but ultimately delivers a good performance. On the other hand, Emraan Hashmi plays an impressive role as officer Vijay Savarkar. Among the other actors, Suniel Shetty stands out in his short yet impactful special appearance and so does Mahesh Manjrekar. Kajal Agarwal and Anjana Sukhani have minimal scope.
Direction: Writer, producer and director Sanjay Gupta worked hard on his script and his efforts have shown. Every dialogue of this film is delivered with swag and dramatics to heighten the impact. The first half of the film is engaging, but the second half is not up to the mark. However, there is enough action, thrill, and gun galore.
Verdict: If you like gritty gangster dramas full of action, blood and bullets, then you will love Mumbai Saga
