Eating Smart
Deepika’s diet plan includes proteins as well as carbohydrates in the right quantities. Deepika is a big foodie and fortunately for her, she has been told by Yasmin to eat several small meals in the course of the day and not starve herself for any reason whatsoever. Deepika, being from the South has a special affinity for all food that is South Indian and it includes rice. However, she has managed to eliminate rice from her diet at night. While eating dosas, she avoids the potato filling and replaces coconut chutney with green chutney to cut down the extra fat. Deepika has kept all junk and spicy food at bay and follows strictly the laid down diet plan for her.
Diet Plan
Deepika’s diet plan can be broken down into the following categories:
• Breakfast: Two egg whites with low-fat milk or a South Indian snack such as idli, dosa or upma
• Lunch: 2 wheat roti with varied veggies, fish in grilled form to avoid excess oil
• Evening Snack: Filter Coffee, the South Indian way along with some nuts like almonds
• Dinner: Chapattis, assortment of veggies and fresh salads; no non-veg and rice at night
Deepika also eats fresh fruits comprising seasonal ones like grapes and mangoes, fresh juices and coconut water in every two hours. She loves dark chocolates.
