Mouthwatering Meals Which Also Boost Immune System!
Coronavirus, flu, are in the air, time to boost the immune system so we don’t get sick. Healthy food does not mean eating fruits and vegetables only. In fact eating more than one fruit per day during flu season can make body more vulnerable to cough and cold. Fruits make our body cold. During flu season we need to eat meals which will keep our body warm. So here are some healthy meals to cook during flu season.
Chicken Soup
A favourite among both adults and kids, chicken soup is an eternal classic dinner. To make it healthier do not add more than one spoon oil/ghee/butter. Add light green vegetables like parsley or coriander for some extra flavour. You can also add root vegetables like carrots, onion, garlic and ginger to make the soup thicker.
Eat the soup with your family and eat it hot. Do not add store made tomato soup.
Chicken will give you the daily protein you need and the vegetables will add fibre.
Egg Poach And Bread
Eggs are the best breakfast food. One cannot argue with this. Eggs are cheap and available everywhere. Even vegetarians can eat eggs. Eat the entire egg to receive all the immune system boosting properties.
Make poach of two eggs with little butter, toast two wholegrain breads. Sprinkle some black pepper and you are ready for a delicious breakfast.
Grilled Fish
Grilled fish is great for immune system, fish has heart healthy oil. Do not deep fry the fish Indian style, instead grilled the fish using olive oil or one table spoon ghee.
Drink lukewarm water if the room temperature water is colder than you like. Stay away from night time travel for now.
