Natural Disaster 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Nepal Kills Hundreds and Levels Buildings
No one knows when nature will take a turn for the worse, and people in Nepal just learn the fact in a really hard way. This morning entire Nepal felt an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude, it was one of the biggest earthquake of recent times. The aftermath of this earthquake was felt in most parts of India. Especially cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Kochi are the ones which are the most affected cities in India. More than 1000 people lost their lives in Nepal and lots of houses are demolished, many people are still trapped, so no one knows how big the death toll will be after the complete rescue is done. Lots of travelers from India are trapped in Nepal, Indian government has arranged an emergency rescue flight but that can only work when Nepal airport reopens tomorrow morning.
Death toll rises and eye witness says “the earthquake swung me’
The situation was really scary for the people in Nepal, one eye witness says that he did not even know what was going on at that time, it’s the earthquake that swung him from one place to another. He also told CNN that the situation made worse because of all the causalities from the government, rescue operation started late and that is why many people are trapped. According to people who were there and survived it will take many months to get back to normal for the people of Nepal.
Many houses collapsed because of this, there is one Nepal resident who told the media that he was having lunch with his parents and the turmoil was so intense that he could not even feel his feet. There were many people who felt like that specially the people who were at high rise buildings at that time. Earthquakes are not uncommon things in Nepal but very few of them leave the country as devastated as this one did.
Not comparable to the disasters that happened in Nepal today but India also suffered because of the earthquake today, lots of people were injured in Bihar. Kolkata people literally shaking today as the turmoil happened twice there. This was all part of the aftermath of the earlier earthquake that happened in Nepal, but the good news is no one lost life in Kolkata and so far there is no news of any building collapsing there.
Indian government is already working hard in bringing all the Indian travelers from Nepal. Trekkers who were at the base camp of Everest are also stuck, no one knows when will they be rescued, the family members are always informed about the situation. Today did not start like this, but everything changed for so many people by the end of the day. No matter how advance our technology gets we still have no answer against the nature. Our heart goes out to all the people who lost their lives today and their family, may they find strength to deal with this sudden disaster.
